Synopsis 1:
Zhao Yanhong always makes trouble in the nursing home, using her "nonsense" to fight against aging and prejudice. Unexpectedly, a small Rubik's Cube becomes the fulcrum for her to pry open the future.
Synopsis 2:
The story focuses on the theme that "life has infinite possibilities at every age." Zhao Yanhong (played by Michelle Yeoh), living in a nursing home, frequently stirs up trouble, using a series of "unconventional" actions to resist aging and prejudice. By chance, Zhao Yanhong meets Wu Youwei (played by Haoran Liu), a Magic Cube expert who runs a stall at a night market, and becomes connected to the puzzle. No one expected that this small hexahedron would become the fulcrum for her to defy her fate.
Synopsis 3:
70-year-old Zhao Yanhong was sent to a nursing home by her son after she became seriously ill, and her house was rented out by her son. In order to take back her life, she tried to make money but encountered obstacles everywhere. Just when she was about to give up, her talent in Rubik's Cube was discovered by the young Rubik's Cube coach Xiao Wu.
One wanted to make money to leave the nursing home, and the other wanted to save the Rubik's Cube training class that was on the verge of bankruptcy. The two hit it off and appeared on TV shows. From then on, she not only gained fame, attention, dignity, love and the initiative in life, but also brought vitality to the stagnant nursing home.

The first trailer for
Miss Rubik's Cube has debuted in Chinese theaters. Reports indicate the film is scheduled for a theatrical release in China this summer.

Main Characters:
Zhao Yanhong (portrayed by Michelle Yeoh) is a strong-willed and rebelliously spirited beyond her age elderly resident in a nursing home, who regularly stirs up trouble, using her unconventional actions time and again to defy aging and prejudice. She embarks on a new chapter in her life at the age of 70 through the Rubik's Cube.
Wu Youwei (portrayed by Haoran Liu) is a Rubik's Cube expert who runs a stall at a night market. Liu Haoran's performance in this role subverts his previous on-screen image. The pairing of Zhao Yanhong and Wu Youwei, one old and one young, brings a fresh dynamic to the film.

Reportedly, the production team has constructed a 5,000-square-meter nursing home set in Foshan, Guangdong Province to bring the story's unique setting to life.

Chinese media have reported that Michelle is set to star in a new Chinese film,
Miss Rubik's Cube (also known as Miss R, Miss Rubik or Lady R). Produced by Wen Muye and directed by Bai Xue, the film is scheduled to begin shooting this May in Guangdong. The story centers on a 70-year-old woman who confronts the challenges of aging and societal prejudice. The cast also includes Chinese actors Liu Haoran and Bai Ke.
