Synopsis (U.S.):
Legendary action director Yuen Woo Ping draws on a stellar cast (Michelle Yeoh, Dave Bautista, Tony Jaa, and Max Zhang) to create a hard-hitting martial arts blast worthy of its place in the celebrated IP MAN universe. Following his defeat by Master Ip, Cheung Tin Chi (Zhang), tries to make a life with his young son in Hong Kong, waiting tables at a bar that caters to expats. But it's not long before the mix of foreigners, money, and triad leaders draw him once again to the fight.

Synopsis:
After defeated by Ip Man, Cheung Tin Chi (Zhang Jin) lives a depressed life and stays low profile. One day, he offends Kit (Kevin Cheng), the younger brother of the most influential gangster Sis HA (Michelle Yeoh), when he tries to save Julia. While Tin Chi tries to stay out of trouble, he gets himself into a fight with the foreigner Davidson (Dave Bautista), the big boss behind the bar district. Tin Chi fights hard with Wing Chun and earns his respect from the neighbourhood...

(06/01/17) IP Man: Cheung Tin-chi held its opening lens ceremony in Foshan, Guangdong Province in southeastern China on June 1st.

(05/21/17) Well Go USA has acquired rights to Ip Man: Cheung Tin Chi and plans release the film in North America and the UK in 2018. Pegasus Motion Pictures also sold the title to KSM for Germany, Kidarient for South Korea, and Conquest Film for Latin America.

(03/13/17) It was revealed at the Hong Kong International Film & TV Market (FILMART) that Michelle will star in Ip Man: Cheung Tin Chi, a martial arts film to be directed by Yuen Woo-ping. Chinese actor and martial artist Max Zhang (Zhang Jin) will reprise his role of Cheung Tin-chi, a spin-off charactor from the blockbuster Ip Man series.
